Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram Attorney Listed Among America's Best Lawyers

Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram is pleased to announce attorney Judah Lifschitz’s recognition in the 25th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America© for his work in construction law. This honor, which is based entirely on peer-review, highlights Lifschitz’s extensive experience in construction-related matters.

In Lifschitz’s practice, he represents private owners and governmental, regional, national and international contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, sureties and insurance companies in disputes, trials, engineering, procurement and construction contracts, alternative dispute resolution proceedings and negotiations.

Among his many trial successes, Lifschitz represented Foulger-Pratt Contracting LLC (FPC) in a case involving the Silver Spring Transit Center project. After four weeks and a jury trial, the $75 million “bet-the-company” lawsuit against FPC was dismissed by Montgomery County, and FPC was paid $3 million on its counter-claim. In another major case, Lifschitz represented Athens Generating Company and recovered a 27 million dollar award of liquidated damages against Bechtel Power Corporation.

In addition to his litigation success, Lifschitz has successfully resolved complex multi-million dollar disputes through mediation, thereby saving his clients the cost and risk of trial.

Lifschitz earned his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University and his law degree from George Washington University Law School.
