Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram Attorney Named Among D.C.'s Top Women in Commercial Real Estsate

Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram announces the inclusion of attorney Barbara Anne (B.A.) Spignardo among Bisnow’s Women of Influence in Commercial Real Estate for her contributions to the industry in 2017. Annually, Bisnow determines its honorees by consulting with market professionals and the local chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) to identify the women who have made the most significant impact on the industry throughout the year.

“We are proud of B.A.’s achievements and her leadership in several major commercial real estate transactions on behalf of our firm this year,” said Judah Lifschitz, co-president of Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram. “Her ongoing commitment to our clients and the commercial real estate sector at large reflects her passion for creating structures that encourage exploration, community development and the future of our region.”

With more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience, Spignardo counsels lenders, borrowers, developers, sellers and institutional investors in sophisticated, high-dollar commercial real estate transactions, including hotel, multifamily, assisted living, office and retail properties. Her work includes origination and servicing of construction and development loans, debt and equity financings, acquisitions and dispositions.

Among her many accomplishments of 2017, Spignardo closed more than $150 million in commercial real estate transactions for her clients.

In addition, she is an active member of CREW and serves on the organizing committee for Women & Wine, an annual event supporting breast cancer research at Georgetown Lombardi's Cancer Research Center. Earlier this year, Spignardo served as an adjunct professor for American University’s Washington College of Law summer program on hospitality and tourism law.

Spignardo earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and her law degree from George Mason University School of Law. She graduated from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
