SLS’s BERGIN HELPS SECURE DEFENSE VERDICT IN INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION

SLS’s John Bergin helped a Northern-Virginia based contractor secure a third consecutive victory at the ICC International Court of Arbitration. This time, Bergin helped defeat numerous multi-million dollar claims from a Turkish subcontractor arising out of two projects in Afghanistan. The fast-track, design/build projects involved a high-profile military runway project and an ammunition supply point project. In a 26-page decision, the Arbitral Tribunal rejected all of the subcontractor’s contract and tort claims. Witnesses from several countries testified at the hearings held in Geneva.  Bergin had been lead trial counsel for the contractor in an earlier arbitration that resulted in a complete defense verdict on numerous multi-million dollar claims from a different contractor on another high-profile military project after a multi-week arbitration hearing.
