Thomas A. (Tad) DiBiase's practice includes construction litigation, government contracts litigation, white collar litigation and general civil litigation. He has extensive trial and litigation experience in both civil and criminal matters. He is a member of the New York, District of Columbia and Maryland bars. In 1991, he received his J.D. (cum laude) from Brooklyn Law School. He received his B.A. in Politics (cum laude) in 1987 from Wake Forest University.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. DiBiase was an Assistant United States Attorney for 12 years with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. When he left, he was the Deputy Chief of the Homicide Section and had previously served as Special Counsel to the U.S. Attorney for Professional Development and Training, Chief of the Third District Homicide/Major Crimes Section and Deputy Chief in the Misdemeanor Section. He has tried over 50 jury trials including 20 homicide trials. He also has extensive grand jury investigation experience having investigated and prosecuted thousands of cases. Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. DiBiase was a litigation associate with the law firm of Shearman & Sterling. While there, he handled complex litigation and arbitration matters for both U.S. and international clients and he specialized in asset forfeiture, environmental litigation and intellectual property disputes in the power industry.
