Steven H. Schram is Co-President of SLS. His practice emphasis is in the business and tax areas. Mr. Schram has extensive experience in negotiating, structuring and documenting business and corporate transactions, including: business formations (including the development of capital structures for and organizing corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, trusts and other business entities); developing acquisition and disposition strategies, merger and acquisition transactions and financing transactions of all types. Closely allied to these skills is Mr. Schram's depth in other areas affecting business entities including: tax, joint ventures, business contracts, employment contracts, licensing of intellectual property, healthcare ventures, executive compensation and a broad range of other business transactions. In addition to transactional work, Mr. Schram has provided ongoing representation as general and special counsel to corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and other business entities.

Mr. Schram graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1975 and cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1978. Prior to attending law school, he served on the audit staff of Ernst & Young, CPAs. Following graduation from law school, he was associated with the business and tax group of a medium sized law firm based in Washington, D.C. and from 1983 to 1988, was a partner in the business and tax group in the Washington, D.C. office of a large national law firm. From 1988 to 1992 he served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel to the largest furniture retailer in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He has been associated with SLS since 1992.

Mr. Schram serves on the Governing Board and Executive Committee of the Anti-Defamation League for the Washington, D.C. Region, on the Advisory Board of the University of Pennsylvania in the Mid-Atlantic Region and serves on the board of directors of several privately held corporations.
