Robert A. Foster's practice involves a broad range of business and commercial transactions with particular emphasis on real estate and financing, including office buildings, shopping centers, multi-family residential projects, and asset-based financing transactions. He has been counsel to lenders and borrowers in some of the most complex and sophisticated transactions in the Washington metropolitan area. He has represented the FDIC and the RTC in loan workouts, foreclosures and asset dispositions. He represents landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions throughout the Washington, D.C. area. Mr. Foster is a former Editor of the National Property Law Digests, National Financing Law Digest and Digest of Environmental Law of Real Property. A member of the District of Columbia Bar, he served on the steering committee for the D.C. Bar Association's Commercial Real Estate Opinions Project.
Robert A. Foster received his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1983, with honors, and his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1979 (Phi Beta Kappa).
