James D. McMichael's practice involves many areas of business litigation as well as construction and government contracts litigation. His practice includes trials, appeals, arbitrations and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution as well as administrative agency proceedings. He has represented clients ranging from large corporations and governmental agencies to small businesses and individuals. His experience includes many large, complex cases in many different state and federal courts. He has great experience in every phase of civil litigation in many substantive areas of the law, such as antitrust, banking, bankruptcy, commercial paper, contracts, construction, corporate governance, director and officer liability, insurance coverage, oil & gas, products liability, professional liability (legal, appraisal, architectural), and real estate finance.

James D. McMichael received his J.D. with Honors in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of the Texas Law Review and the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. in 1979 from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Louisiana Bars and is admitted in a number of federal courts.
