Christopher Mahoney ("Chris") is a Principal of the firm and a member of the firm’s Trial, Construction, and Power & Energy Construction groups. Chris handles a wide array of complex civil litigation, including commercial disputes of all types, construction litigation, and business torts, as well as real estate, employment and environmental matters.

As a seasoned and versatile trial lawyer, his litigation experience, honed over the past 35 years, is broad and deep. Chris has served as both trial and appellate counsel for individuals, small businesses, multinational corporations, municipalities and administrative agencies, and has successfully defended or sued on behalf of those clients before juries and judges in federal and state courts across the country, as well as before mediators and arbitrators. He represents clients from diverse industry sectors, and over the years has litigated cases for foreign and domestic government contractors and subcontractors, building owners and designers, financial institutions, universities, medical equipment suppliers, chemical companies, information technology providers, foreign companies and non-profit entities.

A Martindale-Hubell AV-rated attorney, Chris also has been recognized in Washingtonian Magazine as one of D.C.’s “Top Lawyers” and been named a Fellow of The Litigation Counsel of America.  

Active in civic and charitable matters, Chris is a long-time volunteer attorney for The Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, and has litigated and tried cases pro bono in state and federal courts for both The Legal Counsel for the Elderly and The Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. In addition to serving on the Board of the Union College Alumni Club of D.C., he is a member of The American Friends of The London School of Economics.
