Gregory Seador Joins Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram's Trial Group

Former trial attorney at Department of Justice is latest addition to firm’s growing litigation practice

Gregory S. Seador has joined Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram PC as vice president of the firm and a member of the firm’s Trial, Construction, and Power & Energy groups. Seador is an experienced trial attorney with more than 15 years of complex litigation experience.

“Greg is a highly regarded litigator with extensive trial experience,” said Steven Schram, managing principal and co-president of the firm. “He exhibits the type of client-focused, practical approach to litigation that Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram values, and makes him a great fit for our expanding litigation practice.”

Before joining Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram, Seador was a senior trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and served as lead counsel in affirmative and defensive civil litigation arising under the internal revenue laws in federal district courts across the country. During his tenure with the DOJ, he negotiated non-prosecution agreements for several Swiss banks, spearheaded obtaining an injunction against an enrolled agent accused of promoting a tax shelter that generated $515 million in bogus tax deductions, and successfully obtained injunctions against Georgia tax return preparers and their businesses whose fraudulent conduct caused $108 million in harm to the government. Seador began his legal career in “Big Law” practicing at two AmLaw 100 firms. During his approximately nine years with two powerhouse litigation firms, he managed all aspects of complex commercial trial and class action defense cases, with an emphasis on construction and antitrust law.

"I am excited to join Shapiro Lifschitz & Schram because of their robust litigation capabilities and the opportunity to work with some great litigators,” said Seador.

Seador received his law degree (summa cum laude) from Syracuse University College of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
