Efficiency Pays Off

We represented a lender client in a participation of a nine-figure loan, with proceeds used to acquire and develop a dual-flag hotel and retail property located in the Southwest waterfront area of Washington, D.C., commonly called “The Wharf.” The Wharf stretches across 24 acres of land and more than 50 acres of water from the Municipal Fish Market to Fort McNair. When complete, The Wharf will feature more than three million square feet of residential, office, hotel, retail, cultural, and public uses including waterfront parks, promenades, piers, and docks. The lender client had limited time to review the terms of the participation, the applicable loan, property, organizational and due diligence documents, and negotiate the same, before other lenders joined the fray. We worked efficiently to represent the best interests of the client, while maintaining the sensitive timeframe to bring our lender client into the deal.
